Of all things to do on father’s day, the place to be is Beverly Hills. As a tradition, we go to the Beverly Hill’s Car Show on Rodeo Drive which is hosted one day a year on Father’s Day and according to the show’s host, it is one of the largest events/expos hosted in the city and by just walking up and down Rodeo, I believe him. Celebrities such as the Kardashian/Jenners and Bloggers like to spend the day here as well to celebrate their dads. The street is lined on both sides with mostly old cars, some coming from TV shows and movies, and ends on each side with new cars such as Tesla and Ferrari. I have gone almost every year since I was 10 and this year had to be the busiest. There are people from all walks of life at this event. Some women come dressed in normal attire for walking around in the heat while other women show up dressed to the nines in sky-high heels and expensive dresses, but I mean that’s what you would expect for Rodeo. Although the cars are cool, my favorite part is window shopping outside of the designer shops because heaven knows I can’t actually afford anything in them.
I wore a simple outfit and the look I was going for was kind of a vintage look as if I could be riding shotgun in any of these cars.
sun glasses – prada
neck scarf – stitch and feather (but honestly it is just a simple bandana)
shirt – similar here
pants – vintage pants I bought from Melrose Trading Post for $5, check it out every Sunday, it is worth it
watch – fossil, similar here
bag – my mom’s vintage coach bag
Going to Beverly Hills on Father’s Day has become such a tradition for my family, not because of the car show, but because of the famous Beverly Hills Cheese Shop. My dad LOVES cheese,
but he is so picky about his cheese that he prefers to get his cheese from this particular shop due to its stock of expensive cheeses from around the world, boujee, I know. As you shop for your cheese they always give you samples of different types of cheese to help you pick. It’s a great gift for any cheese loving dad, if you don’t mind the strong smell.
Another must do is lunch at the world-famous deli, Nate ’n’ Al’s. This restaurant has great food and seems odd for the location, but do not pass it up. The sandwiches are some of the best I have ever had and it has great comfort food such as matzah ball soup and knishes. Just make sure to leave early because on a day like father’s day, the wait can be over an hour.
that’s one happy dad
